Two-Day Workshop on Recovery Coaching for Mental Health Peer Support Specialists

Have you been worried about the risk opiate overdose among the people you work with in your CRT /CSP program? Have you wished you had better knowledge and skills to support the people you work with?
Vermont Care Partners, in collaboration with Recovery Vermont, is offering a two-day workshop for designated agency peer support specialists with the goal of reducing opioid-related deaths for CRT/CSP clients. Focused on an audience of peer support specialists, the workshop will build knowledge and skills in the following areas:
Motivational Interviewing
Brain science of addiction and recovery
Ethics, values, and boundaries
Pathways to recovery
Supporting clients to access resources

Peter Espenshade, President & CEO
Peter Espenshade is super proud of his long-term recovery and has been the president of Recovery Vermont and VAMHAR since 2013.  Prior to his work here, Peter worked in philanthropy as a VP at the Vermont Community Foundation and as the Executive Director of the Lake Champlain Land Trust.  He is an active supporter of the arts and currently serves as the board chair of Vermont Stage.
